MSP Expedient Technology Expands Managed Services to Evenings and Weekends through Kaseya emPower Program

Kaseya's IT Monitor Assist™ Ensures Continuous Coverage without Adding Payroll

ST. HELIER, JERSEY, January 29, 2008 — Kaseya, a global provider of information technology (IT) automation software for IT solution providers and corporate IT organizations, announced today that Expedient Technology Solutions (ETS) has deployed the emPower service from Kaseya called IT Monitor Assist, giving off-hours monitoring and management responsibility to a team of Kaseya engineers. By out-tasking to Kaseya, ETS is able to expand its reliable, efficient IT managed services to evenings and weekends, giving customers a robust and complete business continuity strategy at a flat, monthly rate.

“This is really just an extension of our Stress Free managed service to continuous, 24x7 monitoring and systems management,” said Marcus Thompson, director of IT consulting and the founder of ETS. “It allows my staff to relax at night and actually enjoy their time off without having to constantly check their Blackberries or phones. At the same time, our customers continue to receive exceptional IT service without us having to increase their bill or add staff.”

Part of Kaseya’s emPower Program, first launched in September, IT Monitor Assist helps managed service providers ensure the successful implementation of the Kaseya framework, extending coverage past nine-to-five. By out-tasking systems management and monitoring during off-hours, MSPs can continue to offer cost-and staffing- efficient services to its customers without negating the margin enhancements inherent to using the Kaseya solution.

ETS is using the service on 50 of its customers’ servers with plans to extend the program soon to an additional 450 workstations. Kaseya engineers monitor the software’s alerts, making sure that systems are available and running optimally. If they are not, the engineers can identify and troubleshoot the problem, or, if necessary, call the ETS administrator on call. In the case of the latter, the Kaseya engineer will work with the administrator, updating him on the problem and suggesting a resolution.

“Systems that are continuously managed, monitored and protected are overall healthier and lead to faster resolution times, drastically reducing downtime,” said Tim McMullen, Kaseya’s chief operating officer. “Unfortunately, MSPs can become so efficient that they don’t have the staff available to watch customer systems 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There just aren’t enough bodies. IT Monitor Assist allows MSPs to extend their services to cover every second of the day without adding payroll.”
