Kaseya v6.2 Cloud Upgrade

The free K2 6.2 Software Update brings new features and enhancements to both our Cloud and On Premises solutions.

Time Tracking

Time tracking has been enhanced to provide more flexible approval options in addition to improved usability.

  • A timesheet previously approved can be unapproved prior to an invoice run.
  • Time tracking entries created using session timers now allow users to override the standard rate specified for a selected resource type.

New Agent Time Scheduling

New scheduling options for audits and agent procedures allow administrators to choose between the Kaseya Server clock or the Agent machine clock to minimize downtime for those systems that may reside in a different time zone and thus maximize performance.

Quick View Enhancements

New security access rights and users options have been added to Quick View.

  • The Access Rights tab now controls the display of each action button at the top of the Quick View popup window.
  • New Action Options:
    • Remote Control
    • Command Shell
    • Registry Editor
    • Chat
    • Video Chat
    • Reset Password
    • Wake Machine

New Quick Monitor

Building off the success of Quick View introduced in version 6.1, a new Quick Monitor has been added to version 6.2 to provide a similar experience for Agent monitoring. Quick Monitor streamlines the creation of event sets and monitor sets based on event logs, processes and services.

  • Events Sets - Hovering the cursor over the monitor icon of a log entry enables administrators to create new event set criteria based on that log entry. The new event set criteria can be added to any new or existing event set. The new or changed event set is immediately applied to the machine that served as the source of the log entry.
  • Services and Processes – Similar to event sets, hovering over processes and services listed in the Task Manager of Live Connect streamlines the process of creating new monitor sets.

Live Connect

Improved Mac support and a new VPN connection option highlight the new capabilities within Live Connect.

  • File Manager and Command Shell are now supported options for the Mac OS from Live Connect.
  • A new VPN menu option in Live Connect creates a VPN connection between your local machine and the target machine, which may reside on an external network. Once connected, administrators can connect to other machines sharing the same LAN as the target machine including agent-less machines and devices with common tools such as SSH or telnet.

Remote Control

A new SSH page from Remote Control provides a command line window through an SSH session with connectivity to Linux and Mac machines.

Machine Group

Enhanced Drop Down List

The Machine Group drop-down list from the Kaseya administrator portal has been enhanced to only show the machine group for an org if that org has only one machine group. For Service Providors that usually have only one Machine Group per customer/organization, this will improve usability by greatly reducing the length of the machine group drop down list.

New Move Option

A new Move button has been added to the Machine Groups tab and Departments tab of organizations to streamline reorganization of machines.

  • Move all machines and sub-machine groups from a source machine group to a target machine group within the same or different organization.
  • Move all staff and sub-departments from a source department to a target department within the same or different organization.

Agent Procedure Folder Export

Import Center now supports the exporting of agent procedure folders that could contain one or more procedures.

Info Center And Reporting

Info Center reports have been greatly enhanced to improve usability and performance.

Run Now Option

An additional "Run Now" button has been added to the list of scheduled reports providing an option to immediately initiate a previously scheduled report without the need to reset filters and delivery options.

SQL 2008 RDL Formats

The embedded output formats have been re-designed using SQL Reporting Services 2008 report definition layouts (RDLs). The updated RDL layouts provide a clearer view of systems information and improved charts.

  • Colors and borders have been minimized to draw attention to the data being presented in the report.
  • Report filters display in a Data Filter Table at the top of the report for improved clarity.
  • Charts have been updated to a 3D look.
  • A footer with the publishing date, time, report title, and page number displays on every page.

Internet Explorer 9

System wide support of Internet Explorer 9 including the Kaseya administrator portal, End User Portal and Live Connect are fully supported in version 6.2.

System Check Monitoring

New System Check Monitoring monitors agent-less devices for availability including web servers, DNS servers and port connection along with custom ping tests. Alert options including alarm, email and ticket creation are included.

Log Monitoring

New Log Monitoring provides a robust log parsing option for any text file format stored on the managed machine. Alert options including alarm, email and ticket creation are included.

Remote End User Portal Access

Administrators now have the option to provide End User Portal access remotely to internal employees or clients. This powerful option allows users to access their work PC or Mac workstation remotely for file or desktop access through a simple URL and their domain credentials.

Live Connect Chat

Text based chat is now available through the Live Connect window as an option to communicate directly with the end user without the need for video or phone conversations.

File Management and Storage

Administrators that require the distribution of files to remote machines from a central repository have a new option to post files directly to the Kaseya cloud repository. Agent Procedures can reference this secure repository to download and run software installations or maintenance routines that require files to be distributed as part of a procedure process step.

Machine Document Storage

Administrative documents associated with a managed machine can now be stored within the Kaseya cloud repository. A common use of machine document storage includes scanned purchase order receipts, contract information and configuration notes specific to a machine ID.

Customizable Email and Alert Formatting

Email and alert formats generated from Kaseya tickets or monitor sets can be customized based on company, business or other use-case scenarios. The formatting options include message text and delivery routing as well as adapting for specific third party parsing tools.

Inbound Email Ticket Filtering

Automated ticket filtering can be applied to inbound email tickets based on the subject line to minimize erroneous tickets from being generated to the queue.
