Guest Blog: Are You Harnessing the Law of Attraction for MSP Marketing Success?

Have you considered applying the Law of Attraction to your MSP marketing strategy? If you’re not aware of the concept that was made mainstream by the book The Secret, here’s a brief overview: the Law of Attraction states that whatever you think about and focus on the most will manifest itself. That means if you are constantly worried about losing clients or failing— that’s inevitably what will happen.

However, you can harness the power of the Law of Attraction to catapult you to success. How? By simply focusing on the positive and not allowing negative thoughts to ever enter into the equation. Instead of thinking about everything that could go wrong in your business, think of all the things you know can go right. Here are some tips on how to use the Law of Attraction in your marketing to enhance success:

Know the Types of Clients You Want to Attract

The Law of Attraction works the best for MSP marketing success when it’s specific. Saying that you want more clients is a vague notion that’s difficult to quantify. However, saying that you want five new clients a month who spend at least $500 is a specific goal that you can visualize. It’s also quantifiable, so there will be no doubt when you achieve it.

Are you focusing on a target market? Do you want new clients that are a certain size? Do you need new business in a specific geographic area? Knowing the answers to these questions helps you narrow down what you are ‘asking’ for, which makes it easier for the Law of Attraction to deliver.

Eliminate Negative Talk

The first step you need to take to harness the power of The Law of Attraction is to eliminate negative talk in yourself. It’s likely that you don’t even realize how many negative messages you are sending on a daily basis, especially when it comes to marketing. It’s important to recognize phrases like the following and cut them from your vocabulary:

  • Why can’t we seem to grow our client base?
  • No one seems to know what our business can do for them.
  • Why can’t we break into the manufacturing industry?

Try replacing them with these type of messages:

  • I am excited to grow our client base by 20% this quarter.
  • I can’t wait for our new marketing message to show potential clients the value we bring.
  • We will break into the manufacturing industry with our new service offering this month.

Once you’re clear on the messages you want to send, you can begin making sure your employees are also steering clear of the negative. Keep an ear out when you’re walking around the office or when you are in meetings. If you hear negative talk, immediately correct the employee and show them how to turn it into a positive message.

Make Sure Your Actions Match Your Message

Preaching positivity and then reacting to a challenging client or marketing issue with irritation, blame, or a bad attitude will negate your efforts. When using the Law of Attraction, you need to keep your actions as well as your thoughts positive— no matter what the situation. As soon as you let negative thoughts or actions creep in, you’ll send the wrong message and diminish your levels of success.

The Law of Attraction can be a powerful tool in your MSP marketing plan. When you incorporate the above tips and continually check in on yourself and your team to make sure you’re sending positive messages, you can greatly enhance your success. The Law of Attraction can work for you— you just need to know how to use it!
