PSA/Accounting Integration: The Synergy of Kaseya BMS and Xero Accounting Intertwined

Announcements

MSPs and IT execs that use professional services automation (PSA) solutions manage projects, track costs and charges, and produce invoices. That means a good many of these functions trigger accounting events.

Many of these events are handled by the PSA solution itself. Those with accounting systems have to manually rekey this data to keep the two applications in some kind of sync.

This takes time and is decidedly error prone.

Now, shops that use Xero accounting software won’t have this problem if they adopt BMS by Kaseya.

Kaseya recently announced a strategic technology partnership with Xero, the global leader of accounting software for small businesses. The partnership delivers direct integration between BMS by Kaseya and Xero to provide customers with synchronized financial and operational data between both business applications to drive increased efficiency and provide a higher level of service to end users.

This style of integration is not just a theoretical benefit, it is a proven one. Service Performance Insight (SPI), LLC, released its 2017 Professional Services Maturity Benchmark study in which it analyzed the economic value of PSA, and how service leaders benefit from such a solution. It found that all “leaders” in this field use a PSA solution.

“The Best-of-the-Best are focused on financial success and stability. They all have deployed a commercial finance and accounting solution which is partially integrated with their PSA application for billing and revenue recognition,” the report said.

Kaseya IT Complete Driven by Integration

BMS supports all the back-end operational needs of MSPs and is a key component of the Kaseya IT Complete Platform. Easy to migrate to and priced at one-third the cost of competing industry offerings, Kaseya’s overarching goal is to offer the industry’s most functionally rich PSA solution on the market. Part of delivering on that vision is to ensure that BMS integrates seamlessly with the tools that are critical to the operations of IT service providers. Unlike other PSA solutions that rely on third-party facilitation, the direct integration between BMS and Xero leads to fewer headaches, superior support, and a better overall experience for global customers.

“BMS empowers our customers to be more profitable and operationally efficient through easy to access data capture and analysis,” said Jim Lippie, general manager, cloud computing at Kaseya. “Our latest partnership with Xero provides an added layer of financial intelligence that can be leveraged all within BMS’ single pane of glass. This powerful integration saves our MSPs countless hours of admin and back-office time.”

Through the BMS-Xero integration, MSPs now have a single source of truth to view and manage all client financial information including invoice history, payment status, credit status, and products and services purchased. The bi-directional flow of data also enables the accounting team to have all operational information – such as tickets, services, products, and time tracking – seamlessly synchronize in Xero. This integration offers service providers an industry-first, complete view of the customer lifecycle, from start to finish.
