MSP Group Adopts Kaseya Unified Backup, Adds to its IT Complete Stack

The 20 is a remarkable group of MSPs all under one umbrella that gains great efficiencies and economies by using a common set of solutions. The group already uses Kaseya VSA and BMS for its RMM and PSA functions, and just adopted Kaseya Unified Backup (KUB) to drive backup, BCDR and DRaaS for its members.

Tim Conkle, an MSP veteran, is the mastermind behind The 20, and serves as CEO. “The 20 is committed to providing our partners and clients with superior IT support – so that they can focus on growing their business. Key to achieving that aim is to offer the best enterprise-class solutions available on the market. Kaseya Unified Backup combined with VSA fits the bill by providing a one-two punch of superior backup and recovery and remote monitoring and management services. With our ongoing success and the high adoption we’ve seen of our BMS offering, it was only natural to expand our partnership,” Conkle explained.

The news is even better for The 20 members, as The 20 will manage its Kaseya offerings for all members – including initial deployment, implementation and ongoing support.

KUB may be a new offering, but it is based on a fully proven technology from Unitrends MSP, now owned by Kaseya. KUB brings together enterprise-class backup, ransomware detection, and cloud-based business continuity and disaster recovery services in a powerful, all-in-one, appliance-based platform. With KUB, MSPs can say goodbye to multiple applications for managing customer backups and simplify their stack with a cloud-integrated backup appliance that is managed from a single screen. Fully integrated with VSA, the KUB dashboard provides quick, intuitive, and comprehensive access to alerts, reports, and policy management. Additionally, the KUB dashboard is uniquely designed to provide fully automated recovery assurance testing, an integral and often overlooked aspect of a reliable disaster recovery solution.

“KUB is a proven, enterprise-class backup and recovery solution that is faster and more robust than anything on the market, making it easy for our customers to address failovers and get servers back up and running in a matter of minutes. Kaseya’s commitment has always been to do what’s right for our customers, so that our MSPs can focus on enabling the success of their clients,” said Mike Sanders, CEO of Unitrends MSP.

Besides BMS and KUB, The 20 is using the latest release of VSA that adds networking monitoring and management to the market leading RMM. This is the only second-generation RMM solution that natively unifies both endpoint and network management, embeds IT documentation, and exponentially extends IT automation capabilities through crowdsourced automation. MSPs and internal IT organizations can now more effectively manage their entire IT infrastructures – from the endpoint to the network – via a single platform. New features provide enhanced security, deeper integrations, cloud storage, and enhanced management capabilities.

Another Kaseya partner likes the KUB message, in particular, its integration with VSA. “Kaseya Unified Backup is a powerful addition to the VSA platform,” said Tim Tragesser, president, Polar Systems. “Not only does it simplify backup operations, but it also makes recovering from an outage lightning fast because it’s so tightly tied into VSA. Business continuity and disaster recovery is an evolving market for MSPs, and in theory, KUB provides a great opportunity for us to expand our service portfolio and consistently generate new monthly recurring revenue with ease.”
