E-invoicing support for the European Union (EU)

December 4
New
Autotask, Kaseya 365 Ops

Autotask now supports EU-compliant e-invoicing to help organizations meet the requirements of the VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) directive and related national regulations. This update enables the creation of structured, machine-readable invoices that satisfy emerging government standards for electronic submission.

Once enabled, Autotask can automatically generate and submit e-invoices for customers who require them, reducing manual effort and ensuring accuracy. Customer-specific controls make it easy to use e-invoicing only where needed, and real-time status tracking provides clear visibility into delivery and acceptance.

Key benefits:

  • Regulatory compliance: Meet EU and local government e-invoicing mandates with a built-in, standardized format.
  • Automation: Reduce manual processing and minimize errors.
  • Customer-specific controls: Enable e-invoicing only for clients who require it.
  • Status visibility: Track e-invoice delivery and acceptance in real time..
  • Future-proofing: Stay ahead of upcoming legal requirements as more EU countries adopt ViDA-aligned rules.

For a full list of supported countries, mandated start dates and an FAQ for e-invoicing, refer to the release notes.

IMPORTANT
Enable e-invoicing only when Autotask is the authoritative invoicing system.
If your environment uses an integrated financial platform for invoice management, delegate e-invoice generation to that system to maintain data integrity. Do NOT activate e-invoicing if invoice numbers are modified or reassigned outside Autotask after initial creation, as this can introduce discrepancies between systems.
