Karen Sandhu Appointed Director of Security Operations to Strengthen Kaseya’s Security Posture

Sandhu brings extensive security experience in risk management, incident response and governance

MIAMI – July 15, 2021 – Kaseya, the leading provider of IT and security management solutions for managed service providers (MSPs) and small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), has named Karen Sandhu as its Director of Security Operations. She will coordinate many aspects of security operations and oversight across cloud, IT and development with a focus on enhancing the security posture of the company, its products, and customer-facing services.

As an InfoSec leader, Sandhu will advise Kaseya leadership on current and emerging security risks and remediation efforts required to keep the company, its products, and customers secure. Her vision is to reinforce the company’s security by raising situational awareness and reducing the threat landscape by minimizing the likelihood of breach and limiting the exposure and severity of vulnerabilities.

“We are committed to strengthening security operations across the organization and protecting both Kaseya and its customers from breach and compromise,” said Dan Timpson, Chief Technology Officer, Kaseya. “Karen will coordinate efforts to help the company further monitor, assess and defend against cyberattacks.”

Sandhu brings more than 15 years of security risk management experience and expertise in information security, security operations, cloud security, security incident response and governance. Prior to joining Kaseya, she was Director of Cybersecurity, Technology & Privacy Risk for Absolute Software, a leader in endpoint security. In that role, she built the security team from the ground up. With software embedded in 500 million endpoints, Sandhu supported more than 13,000 customers and oversaw security processes across various teams, including cloud, development/engineering, IT, business applications, finance and human resources.

“I joined Kaseya to further solidify the security partnerships cross-functionally throughout the company,” said Sandhu. “I look forward to being part of a dynamic organization that is completely devoted to its customers and maximizing security operations.”

Sandhu graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Business Information Systems from the University of Derby, England. She holds various certifications in information security and is a recipient of the 2020 ISACA Innovative Chapter Program Award.
