Microsoft Online Archives Backup
Datto SaaS Protection now extends backup coverage to Microsoft Online Archive mailboxes, ensuring both primary and archived email data are protected.
Previously, only primary mailboxes were backed up, leaving archived mailboxes vulnerable to loss or compliance gaps. With this update, Online Archive data is included in the existing Microsoft Exchange backup flow, using the same APIs, pipelines and error reporting already in place. Backup health for archived mailboxes is tracked alongside primary mailboxes, giving admins a unified view of protection status.
Administrators can easily opt in to Online Archives Backup during new organization setup or toggle the feature for existing organizations in the Datto Portal or Backupify UI. Bulk opt-in options are also available for managing multiple organizations at once.
By backing up archived mailboxes, SaaS Protection delivers more complete coverage, reducing the risk of data loss, ensuring compliance and improving long-term email accessibility for clients.
