Kaseya 365 Endpoint Pro: The right platform for government IT departments
Consolidating multiple solutions into one unified platform
Doug B. is the IT Director for Burleson County government in Texas. Across eleven locations, he supports nearly 100 workstations and several servers that keep essential departments — like finance, tax and the courts — running smoothly for county staff and the residents they serve.
Like many public-sector IT teams, Burleson County has to be highly efficient and effective with a small team. In Doug’s case, that means doing it all: patching, app deployment, endpoint upkeep, security and the urgent “everything’s down” calls, often with competing priorities and little room for delays.
Before adopting Kaseya 365 Endpoint Pro, he relied on multiple standalone tools and spent too much time bouncing between logins and dashboards. After a demo, he knew consolidation was the goal and said he wanted “to get everything under one umbrella instead of logging into six different tools all the time.”
Burleson County has been using Kaseya 365 Endpoint Pro since July 2025.
Eliminating unused licenses and gaining hours back with automation
With Kaseya 365 Endpoint Pro, Doug consolidated endpoint management and vendor billing while retiring unused licenses — removing cost and complexity at the same time. As he put it, “I was paying for stuff that just sat there,” and Kaseya 365 Endpoint “got rid of the clutter.”
He didn’t need a long onboarding runway, either. “Once I understood discovery, it took me probably about three days to get most of my machines set up the way I wanted.”
From there, the impact was immediate: automation handled routine work in the background, and remote access helped him support staff without losing hours to travel. He shared that he can “touch a lot more desks” now and doesn’t have to drive between locations just to make progress on everyday issues.
“Kaseya 365 Endpoint brings me a lot of value because most people do not know what we do in IT. It lets me be two and a half people instead of one.” Doug B, IT Director, County of Burleson
Hands-free IT with simplified remote support and smarter patching
Moving from VSA 9 to VSA 10 and deploying Kaseya 365 Endpoint Pro streamlined Doug’s day-to-day work and reduced the back-and-forth of switching between tools. “When I click a device on the RMM, it displays a pane that shows the entire machine, so I don’t have to jump around and lose my spot.”
It also changed how he approaches routine maintenance. Instead of patching being an ongoing source of stress, he said it “basically runs on its own,” which has “taken some of the worry off my plate.” And rather than chasing updates endpoint by endpoint, he checks in periodically “to see what is new and make sure nothing is going to break,” using automated reports and real-time dashboards to stay ahead.
On the remote support side, Doug highlighted how much he values being able to work behind the scenes — fixing problems without disrupting employees who are trying to get their jobs done. When a machine needs attention, he can jump in, diagnose what’s happening and take action quietly, instead of forcing someone’s screen to become unusable while IT works.
Government-grade security with 24/7 monitoring, Datto AV and EDR
Government IT comes with a different level of responsibility: public trust, compliance expectations and the reality that threats don’t wait for business hours. Doug chose Kaseya 365 Endpoint Pro for RocketCyber Managed SOC, plus Datto AV and Datto EDR for endpoint protection and automated ransomware detection.
Instead of learning about issues after the fact, Doug gets earlier visibility. “The 24/7 monitoring of Managed SOC gives me the heads up, so I know about suspicious activities when it happens, rather than three days later when someone reports they’re locked out.”
Datto AV and EDR also help him enforce scans and see results without relying on end users. As Doug put it, people won’t do it on their own, but he can “force this to happen,” push a scan and see the results as they come in — helping him stay proactive instead of getting surprised.
“One thing that has been impressive is Kaseya’s focus on staying secure. They are determined to keep it that way” Doug B, IT Director, County of Burleson
Reducing downtime with image-based endpoint backup
In a county environment, devices aren’t cookie-cutter. Doug explained that almost every one of them is different, which makes rebuilding a machine from scratch a time-consuming disruption.
“With image-based restore, I can restore a machine to where it was yesterday in about an hour” — versus days of rebuilding, updating and reconfiguring. For a small IT team supporting multiple offices, that time savings directly helps keep county operations running.
Future-proofing Burleson County IT with more freedom and less worry
Kaseya 365 Endpoint Pro has helped Burleson County consolidate tools, reduce manual work and strengthen security without adding headcount. Just as importantly, it’s helped Doug trade constant firefighting for confidence, knowing the essentials are monitored, maintained and protected even when he isn’t staring at a dashboard.
As Doug put it, “If I want to leave tomorrow to go to a baseball tournament… I’m sure Kaseya 365 Endpoint keeps all the county’s endpoints running safely.”
