The Staff Network Engineer will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure across datacenter, public cloud, and service provider environments. The role involves analyzing network requirements, troubleshooting complex issues, and optimizing performance across hybrid and multi-cloud architectures. With a focus on scalability, resiliency, and security, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our network meets the evolving needs of our organization.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing complex network solutions across on-prem, public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and hybrid environments
  • Managing and maintaining network infrastructure including routers, switches, and cloud-native networking services
  • Troubleshooting network issues across L2/L3, overlay networks, cloud fabrics, and ISP peering domains
  • Monitoring performance and security across data center, WAN, internet edge, and cloud environments
  • Designing and supporting highly available multi-region cloud architectures and hybrid connectivity models
  • Implementing and optimizing connectivity to public cloud (Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Cloud Interconnect, VPNs)
  • Supporting internet edge design including peering, transit, and route optimization
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on network automation, cloud deployments, and infrastructure modernization
  • Documenting configurations, architectures, and best practices across hybrid and cloud environments
  • Mentoring junior engineers in modern networking including cloud and service provider technologies

 

Core Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a network engineer (CCNP or equivalent preferred)
  • Calm under pressure, team-oriented, flexible, and customer focused
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to create, interpret, and implement high/low level designs in both greenfield and brownfield environments.
  • Experience with integration and migration strategies for hybrid workflows
  • Deep understanding of the following technologies: BGP (including route reflectors, confederations), EVPN / VXLAN, L2/L3 switching, IPv6
  • Strong security experience including IPsec, SSL, and DDoS mitigation
  • Hands-on experience in multi-vendor environments including Cisco Nexus, 6500s, ASAs, and Palo Alto
  • Automation experience with Python, Ansible, and shell scripting

 

Public Cloud Networking

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP networking constructs, including: 
  • VPC / VNet design and segmentation
  • Security Groups / NSGs / firewall policies
  • Hybrid connectivity solutions: AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, GCP Interconnect
  • Site-to-site and client VPN architectures
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud networking, transit hubs, and landing zone architectures
  • Experience with cloud network security models and zero-trust principles

 

ISP / Service Provider Networking

  • Strong understanding of internet routing and ISP architectures
  • Experience with: eBGP peering, transit providers, and IX (Internet Exchange) connectivity
  • Knowledge of carrier-grade networking concepts, including: MPLS, L3VPNs, and EVPN in SP environments
  • Experience working with ISPs, circuit provisioning, and troubleshooting last-mile and backbone issues
