Datto Backup, Datto BCDR

Datto SIRIS 6 now supports FIPS Mode, allowing devices to use only FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic modules for all encryption operations. This update aligns SIRIS 6 with the highest modern federal security requirements, improving protection for customers in regulated industries such as government, defense, healthcare and financial services.

When FIPS Mode is enabled, the appliance restricts all cryptographic operations to FIPS 140-3 validated algorithms and modules. This ensures that backup data is encrypted, transmitted and processed in compliance with U.S. federal standards, all without requiring changes to existing workflows.
