Unitrends empowers IT to deliver strong, compliance-aligned data protection for organizations operating in regulated sectors with FIPS 140-3 Inside Unitrends. Available at no additional cost, this optional mode introduces FIPS validated encryption across Unitrends Recovery Series Gen 10 backup appliances and Unitrends virtual appliances.

FIPS Mode combines 35+ years of data protection innovation with FIPS 140-3 validated cryptography so organizations can meet compliance and regulatory mandates without sacrificing the performance, simplicity or seamless continuity Unitrends is known for. When FIPS Mode is enabled, the appliance restricts all cryptographic operations to FIPS 140-3 validated algorithms and modules, ensuring backup data is encrypted, processed and transmitted in compliance with U.S. federal standards.
