Bacheler Technologies builds IT success without sacrificing work-life balance

Overview

Two decades ago, Craig Bacheler was checking all the boxes — climbing the corporate ladder, earning recognition and building a successful career in IT. But he found himself missing out on everyday moments at home. This inspired Craig to build a business where employees wouldn’t have to choose between meaningful work and a fulfilling life.

However, as the company grew, juggling multiple tools and growing vendor fatigue started to get in the way of that vision. By choosing a simpler, more unified IT stack from Kaseya, Bacheler Technologies cut through the noise, bringing efficiency back into focus. This clarity and commitment have been key to the company’s success.

About

Bacheler Technologies was founded on a vision of being a company that delivers dependable IT support where people and relationships come first. With offices in Montgomery, Ala., and Nashville, Tenn., the team provides IT services, cybersecurity protection and practical technology guidance to small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs). The company operates with a strong commitment to honesty, integrity and a work ethic that shows in every client interaction.

A people-first MSP

Bacheler Technologies was never just about IT. When Craig Bacheler founded the company in 2008, he envisioned an organization where employees didn’t have to choose between career success and their families.

Before starting the business, Craig was successful by most metrics. He had the promotions, the paycheck and the recognition. But when his son turned four, he realized he was missing the moments that really counted.

“I’d go to work before he woke up, and I’d get home after he was asleep. I wasn’t having a good balance between technology and family time,” Craig shared.

That realization shaped everything Bacheler Technologies would become. From day one, the company focused on meaningful work, strong relationships and a healthy work-life balance for its team. Their culture is anchored in five core values: putting others first, a strong work ethic, humility, making a difference, and honesty and integrity.

This people-first mindset fueled the company’s growth. Today, Bacheler Technologies has over 30 engineers in two locations providing SMBs with IT services, cybersecurity protection and tech guidance.

Cutting complexity without compromising people

It wasn’t always smooth sailing, though. As Bacheler Technologies grew, its once-simple tech stack expanded into a tangled mix of over a dozen tools and vendors. The team was stretched thin, and Craig could see it weighing on everyone.

“Before Kaseya, we went from using two or three products to managing 12, 13, even 14 different tools from just as many vendors,” Craig explained. “We were constantly trying to figure out which one could offer the best solution at a reasonable cost for our clients.”

Too many moving parts and late nights slowly chipped away at the culture Craig and his team had worked so hard to build. They knew something had to change.

Six years ago, Bacheler Technologies partnered with Kaseya and slowly started replacing their fragmented stack with solutions that truly worked together. When Kaseya 365 Endpoint launched, it pulled all the solutions the MSP was already using — monitoring, backup, security and reporting — into one easy-to-manage platform.

“[Kaseya 365 Endpoint] makes everything run more efficiently,” Craig noted. “Support is faster. Managing the team is easier. Everyone uses the same tools, which saves time and means no late nights. When people aren’t staying late, [their] quality of life improves.”

Engineers and clients quickly felt the impact of the change.

“We’ve improved our resolution times, our response times and how we communicate security issues to clients,” said Justin Gilliam, co-owner and national operations manager at Bacheler Technologies.

Growing the right way

With fewer tools to juggle and smoother operations, the results were clear: better workdays, a happier team and noticeable cost savings. “[Kaseya 365 Endpoint] probably saves us about $3,000 to $4,000 a month on overall tool costs,” Craig added.

Bacheler Technologies is also a member of TruPeer, Kaseya’s MSP peer group, where leaders share insights, learn from each other and grow together.

“Since we’ve joined the TruPeer peer group, I would say our profitability has tripled. We’re running the business more efficiently and bouncing ideas off other people in the industry who aren’t necessarily competitive [with us],” Craig shared.

That growth fueled real momentum, including its recent acquisition of a firm in Nashville.

Keeping the heart in the work

Most importantly, the company has grown without losing its heart. Craig hasn’t missed a single one of his son’s football games or wrestling matches, and he’s built a culture where team members don’t have to choose between work and family either.

Bacheler Technologies continues to grow, solving complex IT challenges and moving forward with balance and purpose. Becoming a Kaseya partner hasn’t changed Bacheler’s story; it’s helped them write it with greater clarity and control.

Overall quality of life has improved because of the ability to consolidate everything. And when you consolidate and make it more efficient, everything streamlines. It makes everyone’s life a little bit simpler. Craig BachelerBacheler Technologies. Owner and vCIO
