Kaseya BYOD Suite Enables Secure Access to Corporate Data from Mobile Devices While Preserving Employee Personal Data Privacy
BOSTON – December 10, 2013 – Kaseya®, a leading provider of IT systems management software, today announced the general availability of the Kaseya BYOD Suite, an enterprise-class platform that securely extends multiple corporate data sources to mobile users’ smartphone and tablet devices, while ensuring personal data privacy and keeping employee data free from corporate control. The technology for the solution was purchased by Kaseya earlier in the year in its acquisition of Rover Apps.
BYOD policies are escalating in popularity for enterprises that want to enable their employees to work using the mobile devices they prefer. BYOD is a significant employee satisfier, but it also poses new risks to corporate data and raises employee concerns of corporate control over their personal information and devices. Kaseya BYOD Suite simultaneously solves both of these challenges. With this easy to deploy solution, organizations can centrally configure and manage a sophisticated security architecture for employee-provided mobile devices, enabling anytime, anywhere access to corporate data, documents, email and systems. Kaseya BYOD Suite offers a containerized approach that separates corporate access from the rest of the device, enabling full control for the enterprise over everything related to corporate data, while leaving the device itself, and personal data and applications on the device, completely untouched.
“Managing and securing corporate data when it is accessed from employees’ personal mobile devices is a real concern for our customers,” said Randall Spangler, President of MERIT Solutions, a managed service provider. “Kaseya BYOD Suite provides the highest levels of security for corporate data while segregating it from personal data on mobile devices. If an employee leaves the company or a device is compromised, we can quickly wipe the enterprise data on that device without impacting the employee’s personal information. This solution puts our customers’ BYOD privacy and security concerns to rest.”
Kaseya BYOD Suite provides installable apps that create a corporate ‘container’ on an employee’s personal device, creating a secure environment that is controllable by the IT team. Within these secure apps, users have the ability to access email, data and files from the company network. Thanks to a private secure communications channel between the applications and a gateway behind the company firewall, there is no need for cumbersome VPNs to access information while remote. The solution does not rely only on device-level encryption, but provides its own highly secure encryption. Security protocols are military-grade with AES 256 encryption on top of SSL encryption, and the solution is compliant with industry privacy standards including FINRA, FIPS 140-2, HIPAA and more.
“Our employees are increasingly using their own devices as they conduct business on behalf of Attachmate,” said Jacqueline Dundon, IT Business Applications Project Manager at Attachmate. “With Kaseya BYOD Suite, we can provide them with the access they need to company applications and data, on their preferred devices, while maintaining high standards of security.”
“More and more organizations are looking to implement BYOD policies to drive cost savings and employee satisfaction,” said Yogesh Gupta, President and CEO of Kaseya. “This raises major new challenges for both corporate security and the balance between employee data privacy and corporate data control. The Kaseya BYOD Suite elegantly solves both of these challenges, offering IT organizations an easy-to-administer solution that provides IT peace of mind that critical corporate data is secure, while keeping employees happy.”
